(NOTE: There is currently a bug on this product listing where a random image under 'Size Guide' is displaying an unrelated product. Please ignore it. That image is unrelated to the IRIS and we are working to have it removed.)
The IRIS is one of the most sophisticated infrared night vision monoculars we currently sell. Many aspects of the design are based on the analog PVS-14. This means the IRIS is suitable for a large number of applications including hiking, tunnel or cave exploration, camping, animal observation, security, surveillance, NERF competitions, and more.
Unlike most digital night vision devices, the IRIS is unique in that the optical lens does not have any magnification. Instead, it utilizes a fixed zoom (1X), manually focusing, 60° wide-angle lens which provides a realistic first-person-view (FPV) perspective.

The IRIS can be mounted to almost anything. It will work with tripods, J-arms, and GoPro mounts. It can also be handheld. A flexible rubber headstrap and mounting accessories are included with your purchase so the device can be used straight out-of-the-box if desired.
However, if you wish to mount the IRIS to a ballistic helmet, you will need either a NVG mounting shroud or a J-Arm/Rhino Mount setup. We recommend the simpler NVG shroud.

The IRIS is a digital night vision device which means it produces a black and white (monochromatic) night vision image. With that being said, it comes equipped with a number of features designed to better mimic a traditional analog device.
For example, the viewfinder has very low latency (sub 10ms). Ergonomically, it is almost identical to an analog device in both size and weight (approximately 6 inches in length and 2.5 inches around). It weighs right around 220 grams.

Similar to the PVS-14, it also features a "set and forget" style focusing lens. Simply focus the device once to infinity and in 95% of cases you wont ever have to touch the focusing wheel again.
PLEASE NOTE: The helmet and sunglasses in the primary picture are NOT INCLUDED.
